Women in Kutail lock up power station

Karnal, Jan 4 (UNI) Agitated by unprecedented load sheding, hundreds of women of Kutail village in the district locked up the power sub-station for about three hours today, demanding a steady power supply.

Led by the trio of Bohati Devi, Shanti Devi and Roshani Devi of the village, the women raising anti-administration slogans, laid a siege of the power station.

When even the SHO Gharaunda failed to pacify them, SDM Karnal along with the SDO and XEN, accompanied by a posse of police, reached the spot to control the situation.

Only when the officials gave an assurance of normal power supply the seige was lifted.
