Ushdev obtains carbon credit from UNFCC

New Delhi, Jan 3 (UNI) Power generating and Steel trading company, Ushdev International Ltd, today said it had obtained carbon credits clearance from United Nations Framework Convention of Climate Change (UNFCC) for two of its projects.

The UN body had granted carbon credit clearance for its projects in Rajasthan and Karnataka, the company said in a statement.

Carbon credits create a market for reducing greenhouse emissions by giving a monetary value to the cost of polluting the air.

Emissions become an internal cost of doing business and are visible on the balance sheet alongside raw materials and other liabilities or assets.
