Patil says BMC standing committee is 'understanding' committee
Mumbai, Jan 3 (UNI) Severely criticising the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's standing committee and describing it as an ''understanding'' committee, Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil today said the inquiry into the scented milk episode in which a large number of school children had taken ill, will come to a naught.
Speaking at a function organised by the ''aanganwadi'' workers here today, Mr Patil said the inquiry is a farce and the committee members are only playing with the health of the children in the BMC run schools.
It may be recalled that 48 children from BMC-run schools were admitted to hospitals in two separate incidents after they complained of stomachache and vomitting a few weeks back following consumption of scented milk.
