Aizawl DC sets up probe into footpath subsidence

Aizawl, Jan 03 (UNI) Aizawl DC today set up a magisterial inquiry into the subsidence of a footpath at Bawngkawn here that killed a boy and damaged some property.

The Aizawl DC has expressed his sympathy to parents of five-year-old David Lalmalsawma, who was killed when the incident occurred on December 29.

It is believed that the subsidence was caused due to lack of maintenance and bad construction of the footpath. The inquiry, headed by Aizawl additional DC R.Lalhmangaiha, is supposed to submit its report before January 11.
