Delhi records coldest morning of season; temp plunges to 1.9 deg C

New Delhi, Jan 2 (UNI) There was no respite from the biting cold for Delhi as the capital today recorded the season's coldest morning with the minimum temperature plummeting to 1.9 degrees Celsius, five degrees below normal.

The maximum was 20.2 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal.

Yesterday was the coldest New Year morning in five years with the mercury touching 2.6 degrees Celsius.

Weather office here said the cold wave conditions were likely to continue for few more coming days.

According to the weatherman, some mist is likely tomorrow morning but there will be a mainly clear sky. The minimum temperature is expected to be around two degrees celsius.
