Chandigarh institute pledges to fight global warming

Mumbai, Jan 1 (UNI) Students of Swami Vivekanand Group of Institutes (SVGOI), Chandigarh, have collectively made a New Year resolution to contribute towards creating awareness on global warming.

The entire student community, comprising 3,000 students and 200 faculty staff, have pledged to contribute Re 1 every month to the 'Secure the Future-Say No to Global Warming' campaign, stated a release.

The fund will be utilised to create awareness on global warming among students, the general public and industrialists with emphasis on reducing the emission of carbon and allied gases, preserving bio-diversity and maintaining balance in ecology, added the release.
