2 ashtadhatu idols seized, 2 arrested

Lucknow, Jan 1 (UNI) Police today seized two antique ashtadhatu idols in Alambagh area of the capital and arrested two persons in this regard.

The idols were estimated to be worth Rs 2 crore, police said.

Allah Jani and Shahzad were nabbed this morning and the idols of Lord Krishna and Radha, weighing 17 kgs, recovered from them.

The idols were stolen from the Thakurji temple in Thatharia locality in Fatehpur district in the state.

The accused had brought the idols here to sell them off, police added.
