'UNPA must reconsider decision on Prez polls'
Chennai, July 15: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party today urged the United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA), a conclave of eight regional parties, to reconsider its decision to boycott the ensuing Presidential polls.
Talking to reporters here, Panthers Party National Chairman Prof Bhim Singh urged UNPA Constituent and AIADMK Supremo J Jayalalithaa and other front leaders to reconsider their decision in the interest of Parliamentary democracy.
The leaders of the UNPA should advise their MPs and MLAs to vote in the presidential polls according to their conscience, he added.
The Third Front's decision to boycott the polls would have serious repercussions and adverse effect on Parliamentary democracy, he added.
