Israel kills gunman from Abbas's Fatah movement
Jenin, West Bank, July 2: Israeli troops killed a Palestinian gunman from President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah movement early today in a raid targeting armed members of the Western-backed leader.
An Israeli military spokeswoman said soldiers had shot the gunman during an overnight raid in a refugee camp near the West Bank city of Jenin.
Palestinian security sources said the 25-year-old was a member of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the armed wing of the Western-backed Fatah movement.
