New Congress legislator calls on Karunanidhi

Chennai, June 30: Newly-elected Congress legislator from Madurai West Assembly constituency K S K Rajendran called on DMK President M Karunanidhi at Anna Arivalayam, the DMK headquarters, here this morning.

Mr Rajendran was accompanied by senior Congress leaders, including TNCC President M Krishnasamy and Treasurer D Sudarsanam.

On the occasion, Mr Rajendran thanked Mr Karunanidhi and his Madurai based son M K Azhagiri for helping him attain a resounding victory in the by-election.

Besides the Congress leaders, Mr Azhagiri was also present on the occasion.

Later, talking to reporters, Mr Sudarsanam condemned AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa for criticising the outcome of the by-poll.

He also condemned the Election Commission for ''siding'' with Jayalalithaa.
