Gujjar leaders to hold talks with Rajnath Singh
Jaipur, June 3: In a sudden move, the agitating Gujjar leaders, accompanied by six ruling BJP MLAs from Gujjar community, today left for New Delhi to hold further talks over the demand of inclusion of Gujjars into ST list, with BJP President Rajnath Singh.
A BJP spokesman told UNI here that most of the members of 11 member delegation of Gujjar representatives and six BJP MLAs from the community have moved for New Delhi to meet the party president.
The move attained significance as top brass in BJP leadership-- party General Secretary Gopi Nath Munde, who is the incharge of the party Rajasthan unit's affairs, former Union Minister Anant Kumar, BJP Spokesman Prakash Javadekar and state president Dr Mahesh Sharma-- were present in Jaipur.
Mr Mundi and Mr Kumar, who arrived here yesterday, had earlier also facilitated talks between the state government and the Gujjar leaders yesterday.
Meanwhile, the expected round of talk between Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and Gujjar Reservation Action Committee convenor Col Kirodi Singh Bainsla could not take place due to non arrival of the later for the talks.
A government spokeman said that Col Bainsla could not come Jaipur as he was participating in funerals of victims which took place in Patoli in Dausa district today.
The spokesman held that the talks were not broken down and the same would continue.
