Indo-Pak border officials meet at Wagah

Lahore, May 18: The quarterly coordination meeting between delegations of Pakistan Rangers and Border Security Force (BSF) of India was held at Pakistan's Wagah.

The Pakistan delegation was led by Brigadier M Qaiser Khan Tareen, Deputy Director-General, Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) while the Indian side was headed by A K Jain, DIG, BSF.

State-owned Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported that the meeting yesterday was the part of a mutually-agreed programme aimed at measures being taken by the guarding forces of the two countries for the management of border duties.

Brigadier Tareen said the status of the border should remain the same and no further constructions should be undertaken.

Other issues like drug trafficking, repatriation of inadvertent crossers and coordinated patrolling along the international border, were also discussed.
