India-Pak to hold talks on Sir Creek on May 17
Islamabad, May 16: India and Pakistan will begin a two-day talk on the Sir Creek tomorrow.
An Indian defence delegation, led by Major Gen M Gopal Rao, Surveyor General of India, is arriving here today for the talks to be held in Rawalpindi.
Pakistani side will be led by Additional Defence Secretary Rear Admiral Tanveer Faiz.
The two sides will discuss in detail the joint survey, which was conducted in January.
Defence officials from both the sides and hydrographers had agreed to hold the second joint survey of horizontal pillars in the Sir Creek to identify and demarcate the boundary between the coastal state of Gujarat and Pakistan's port city of Karachi during their talks in Rawalpindi last December year.
The first survey was conducted in January 1995.
