Hung assembly expected in UP: Rajnath
Bhopal, May 9: BJP President Rajnath Singh today admitted that theassembly polls could throw up a hung assembly in Uttar Pradesh butrefused that the party would work out an alliance with the SP or theBSP. Mr Singh told reporters here that one must wait for the resultsbefore stating something decisively. He hoped that the position of theBJP-led NDA would be good in Uttar Pradesh.
He scotched up speculations regarding SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadavoffering to extend support to NDA constituent's Apna Dal leader for thepost of Chief Minister.
''Apna Dal leader Sonelal Patel has made it clear that he would not leave the NDA,'' he said.
On the party's strategy in event of fractured verdict and theCentre imposing President's Rule in Uttar Pradesh, Mr Singh said theparty was waiting for results. A decision would be taken afteranalysing overall situation.
