'Sovereignty of Par undermined on OBC issue'
Hyderabad, Apr 29: Expressing concern over Supreme Court's refusal to vacate stay on the implementation of 27 per cent quota for OBCs in higher educational institutions, the CPI today said this' undermined the sovereignty of Parliament'.
Speaking at the CPI general body here, party general secretary D Raja said Parliament had the powers to enact the laws for the common man and oversee their implementation.
''The Left parties told the UPA the Parliament should help implement the OBC quota if the Apex Court refuses to vacate the stay,'' he said, claiming that the country was facing a critical situation after the stay on the OBC quota.
