IIMB to go ahead with admissions; list on website

Bangalore, Apr 27: Ending the suspense on admissions, the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore today released the list of canditates selected for this academic year following the goahead from the Centre.

A IIM-B spokesman told sources that the first list would be a little over 240 and the candidates have been given two weeks time to send their acceptance. The deadline had been curtailed by a week to enable the preparatory session start early June and the regular sessions in July, the spokesman said. Besides the general category candidates belonging to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and other reservation categories would be announced.

He said the candidates have been asked not to wait for the admission letters to reach them and can access the IIM-B website in which the list would be available.

He said the second list of 30 would be admitted after May eight which would include candidates from Other Backward Classes also.

The admission to premier Institutes of Management across the country was put in disarray due to the OBC reservation controversy with the Supreme Court staying for this academic year the implementation of reservations to OBC as approved by the centre in centres for Higher Education.
