IIM-Ahmedabad puts admission process on hold
Ahmedabad, Apr 20: The Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad(IIM-A) has expressed its regret to successful candidates for PGP2007-09 batch for putting off the admission process following theCentre's direction to IIMs to put on hold the admission procedures forthe academic year 2007-08 till the Supreme Court hears the quota stayissue on April 23.
IIM-A said that since the implementation of Central EducationalInstitutions (Reservation in Admission) Act, 2006 is subjudice and isin the Supreme Court, it regrets to announce that the offer ofadmission to successful candidates for PGP 2007-09 batch will be madeonly after the underlying issue is resolved.
It said short-listed candidates, who participated in the secondstage of admission process, should visit its website periodically to beabreast of the latest developments.
''It will be the endeavour of Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad to announce any major development related to admission statusthrough appropriate communication channels as and when required,'' itsaid.
