China has no proposal to link roads via Arunachal
New Delhi, Dec 13: China has no proposal to establish a road link with India through Arunachal Pradesh, the Government today informed the Rajya Sabha.
In a written reply to a query by Dr Narayan Singh Manaklao regarding apprehensions about China developing road connectivity through Arunachal Pradesh, Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh said since there was no proposal, the question did not arise.
To a question regarding setting up of Land Customs Port Authority of India at a cost of Rs 800 crore, the Minister said according to Department of Border Managment of Ministry of Home Affairs, the government had given an ''in-principle'' approval to set up Land Ports Authority of India for overseeing construction, management and maintenance of 13 such Integrated Check Posts (ICP) at an estimated cost of Rs 850 croes in a phases manner.
