Lok Sabha Speaker accepts Sidhu's resignation
New Delhi, Dec 4: Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee today accepted the resignation of BJP member Navjot Singh Sidhu who had resigned from the House after he was convicted by Punjab and Haryana High Court on December 2 in an 18-year-old road-rage case.
Mr Chatterjee himself informed the House about Sidhu's resignation letter sent to him late on December 2.
The resignation was earlier rejected by the Speaker as it was not written in the proper form. The former cricketer then sent in his resignation in the revised form.
