2-Day Intl Dalit and Minorities Conf in Delhi
New Delhi, Dec 3: More than 100 delegates from across the globe will converge at GMC Balayogi Auditorium here to participate in the two-day International Dalit and Minorities Conference from December 27, to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Talking to the mediapersons, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) Chief Ram Vilas Paswan, organiser of the international conference, said the theme of the Conference will be ''Power to the Powerless''.
The main issues to be discussed include Socio-Economic and Educational Empowerment of Dalit and Minorities, achievements and failures of Governmental projects and programmes pertaining to SC/Minority since Independence, and atrocities against Dalit and Communal riots against the minorities, he said.
He said a number of preparatory meetings have been organised and a large number of International Intellectuals belonging to the Dalit and Minority Communities across the globe have confirmed their participations.
Participants from the US, the UK, Australia, Canada, Japan, Pakistan, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Malaysia, Bangladesh and West Asian countries have already sent confirmations.
He said all the like-minded people, Members of Parliament and Governors of various States, Dalit and Minority leaders from all over the country will also participate in the global meet.
Non-political leaders will also be speaking at the Conference.
A number of Committees and sub-Committees of Christians, Sikhs, Muslims and Buddhists have been found for the purpose. Fact-Finding Committees for Dalit Affairs and Buddhist and others have also been found.
