President accepts Shibu Soren's resignation
New Delhi, Nov 29: President A P J Abdul Kalam has accepted the resignation of Coal Minister Shibu Soren who had quit the Cabinet yesterday following his conviction in the Shashinath Jha murder case.
A Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesman today said Dr Kalam had accepted Soren's resignation on the recommendation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Dr Singh had asked Soren to quit immediately after the trial court's verdict had come in.
