JD(S)-BJP understanding will be exposed: Congress

Mysore, Nov 22: Senior Congress leaders, including former ministers today claimed the 'secret understanding' between the ruling coalition partners, Janata Dal (S) and the BJP, would be exposed after the Chamundeswari Assembly by-elections slated for December four.

Addressing newspersons these leaders, including former ministers, H Viswanath, M Shivanna, M Mahdeva and Tanveer Sait alleged the coalition partners were involved in casteism and were banking on the votes of two communities.

This was a dangerous and unhealthy development in the state, they claimed. No party would win the election on community vote and the battle should be fought on policies and programmes, they added.

Mr Viswanath said the ''dharma yudha'' declared by former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (S) national president H D Deve Gowda was over, even before it could commence, as the people have already made up their mind on electing their representative.

Mr M Shivanna said the Janata Dal(S) was speaking now about 'internal reservation', which had already been taken up earlier by the Krishna government which had constituted a commission for the purpose.

The Congress party would take up the campaign on various level and top leaders are camping in the city to undertake door to-door campaign in the coming days, they added.
