Delhi Police doing 'its bit' in Noida kidnapping
New Delhi, Nov 14: The Delhi police has sounded an alert in its Anti-Kidnapping Cell regarding the Noida kidnapping case, suspecting that the abductors of three-year-old Anant may have sneaked into the national capital or have links with gangs operating here.
An alert has been sounded in the Anti-Kidnapping Cell of the Delhi Police's Crime Branch and sleuths of the Special Cell are conducting investigations to check whether the kidnappers belonged to any of the gangs in the capital, a senior police official said.
''We are also looking into whether the accused sneaked into the Capital after the kidnapping or whether they have any links with the gangs here.'' Since Noida borders Delhi, there is a possibilty of some connection existing in the capital too. The investigation would be on those lines, he said.
''We are just doing our bit by gathering criminal intelligence inputs related to the case here.'' However, nothing formal has been taken up with regard to the case but whenever anything big or important takes place, we coordinate and try to find its link here, he added.
Anant Gupta, son of Naresh Gupta, Senior Vice-President and country Head of 'Adobe', a US multinational software solutions company, was abducted by two motorcycle-borne men last morning, yards from his posh Sector 15-A resident in Noida, while on way to school with a maid.
