Noida kidnap: No breakthrough, ransom demanded
Noida/Lucknow, Nov 14: Uttar Pradesh police is investigating all the past and present gangs involved in kidnappings even as no breakthrough has so far been achieved after 24 hours of the daring daylight kidnapping of Adobe India CEO Naresh Gupta's son 3-year old Anant from Noida.
While the Special task Force (STF) of UP police have been pressed into service, the family members of abductee have received a ransom call for an undisclosed amount this morning, a senior police official confirmed to sources.
Three-year-old Anant Gupta was kidnapped yesterday morning by two motorcycle-borne youths from outside his residence in Sector 15-A Noida.
Naresh Gupta, who was in United States at the time of the crime, also reached Noida this morning. Being unable to speak much on the incident, he told media '' You should pray with us for the safe return of the child.'' Meanwhile, the investigators are interrogating several persons including the maid servant who was with the child at the time of kidnapping. ''We do not rule out that someone from the house staff could be involved in the incident,'' sources said.
Police, while being in the look out for the gangs, was working on several theories and has interrogated many people in connection with the case Anant is a pre-nursery student at the prestigious Lotus Valley School, situated on the Express Highway. His elder sister Kavita too studies in the same school.
STF sources in Lucknow told sources the teams were on the job in Noida and neighbouring areas but nothing concrete had come out so far.
