'Jessica murder not over refusal to serve drink'

New Delhi, November 9: Senior counsel Ram Jethmalani, defending Jessica Lal murder prime accused Manu Sharma, today submitted before the Delhi High Court today that the model was not killed because he had refused to serve the accused drink but by someone who had a ''much more powerful motive.''

Appearing before the Division bench comprising Justices R S Sodhi and P K Bhasin, he claimed that so far in the trial, the truth had been suppressed and said he would conclude, by the next hearing, his argument over the clinching theory of two weapons, which had won Manu acquittal in the trial court.

Mr Jethmalani had claimed yesterday he could prove that the model was shot dead by someone else and not Manu Sharma, and claimed a Sikh man was the actual killer and that he would reveal his identity soon.
