New Dehi, Oct 26: Putting at rest speculation that her son Rahul will soon be inducted into the Manmohan Singh government, Congress President Sonia Gandhi has indicated that it would not be done immediately.

In an exclusive interview to NDTV, she said her son should wait and gain experience first.

The question was whether the Amethi MP would be given any responsbility in the Congress-led UPA government at the centre.

There are, however, indications that Rahul would be given a berth in the AICC set-up in a reshuffle necessitated by the induction of a few top party functionaries, into the Central government.

However, Ms Gandhi remained non-committal when Journalists asked her at the swearing-in ceremony at the Rashtrapathi Bhavan on Tuesday about her plans for her son.

"You ask him," was her refrain to the mediapersons, giving no clue on how soon he would be brought to the centrestage of Congress politics.

Ms Gandhi had said last month at the Congress CM's onclave at Nainital that Rahul would campaign actively for the party in the coming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

At the AICC plenary at Hyderabad early this year, Rahul himself had said that he would like to gain more experience to take up greater responsibility in the party.
