Rahul Gandhi to stay away from UP polls campaign

Varanasi, Oct 26: Congress MP from Amethi Rahul Gandhi will not campaign for the Uttar Pradesh civic elections.

Party's lcoal MP Rajesh Mishra said here today Mr Gandhi was not likely to campaign for party candidates in the polls slated for this month end and early November.

Dr Mishra further said Union Ministers Saifuddin Soz and Chandrashekhar Sahu will canvass support for party candidates in Varanasi, where civic elections are slated for October 31.

Among state party leaders UP Congress Legislature Party leader Pramod Tiwari and former MP from Amethi Sanjay Singh will address public meetings on October 28 and 29 in the city.

Meanwhile, former union minister Mohsina Kidwai addressed a public meeting at Golghar here where she called upon the electorate to vote for Congress to draw the state back on the path of development.
