HM section commander killed in encounter
Jammu, Oct 21: Security forces gunned down a Hizbul Mujahideen section commander, who was formerly a Special Police Officer (SPO), in an encounter at Mislie forest area of the Doda district early today, police said.
In a pre-dawn operation, HM section commander Shabir Ahmed Bhat, son of Nazir Ahmed Bhat (Code Bilal) was killed at Mislie forest under Gandow police station, Senior Superintendent of Police(SSP), Doda, Manohar Singh told UNI.
One AK rifle, a magazine, and seven rounds were recovered from the site of encounter, he said, adding that the operation was still on.
The militant had deserted the SPO in 2003 to join HM, the SSP informed.
