Sensex up 83 pts in the opening move
Mumbai Oct 11: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensitive Index (Sensex) riding on a positive optimism prior to the second quarter results starting today, opened 83 points in the green at 12,446.72.
Currently the sensex is trading 99.42 points up in the green at 12,463 as traders primarily buy IT stocks. Infosys is coming out with its second quarter results today.
Amongst the sectoral indices on BSE, only IT has shown some resistance to otherwise selling pressure, which has emerged in other sectors. IT sector is up by 3.82 per cent, Teck sector by 2.63 per cent, whereas the Auto, Bank and Consumer Drurables are all down in the red.
Major gainers on the BSE-30 index are Infosys, TCS, Satyam, Wipro, HDFC, Reliance Communications, HDFC bank, Grasim Industries, Bharti Airtel, and Cipla all up between 0.27 to 4.34 per cent.
Besides the losers are Tata Motors, Gujarat Ambuja, Bajaj Auto, ICICI, ACC, Hindalco, ONGC, Heroa Honda, Ranbaxy, and L&T all down between 0.49 to 1.51 per cent.
