Afzal should not be granted clemency: Shiv Sena

Jammu, Oct 7: Demanding gallows for Jaish-e-Mohammed militant, Mohammed Afzal Guru, the accused in the December 13, 2001 Parliament attack case, the Jammu and Kashmir unit of Shiv Sena said he did not deserve any pardon or mercy.

Addressing the media here, state unit Shiv Sena President Pawan Gupta and other leaders Vipan Hindu and Dimple Kohli said such people should be dealt with strictly.

They also attacked Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and all those who were advocating clemency for Afzal.

''These leaders are responsible for hatching a conspiracy against Parliament. The people of Jammu and Kashmir should discard such leaders who are trying to save Afzal for vote bank politics,'' they said.
