Sensex trades 190 pts up on intense buying
Mumbai, Oct 5: The BSE Sensex today in a buoyant mood surged more than 200 points as buying intensified in the banking, capital goods and IT sector.
Currently, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensitive Index (Sensex) is trading at 12,394.07 points which is 190 points more than the previous close.
Earlier, the sensex opened 95 points in the green as the US Federal Reserves Chairman announced that the Housing rates have slowed down and have impacted the US growth rate.
Bankex is up by 2.38 per cent on the BSE and is followed by IT up by 2.41 per cent and Technology sector is up by 2.00 per cent.
Major gainers in the intra-noon trade on the BSE-30 index are - HDFC Bank, Infosys, Reliance Communications, SBI, Wipro, Tata Motors, Grasim Industries, Satyam Computers, Tata Steel and Cipla - all up from 1.94 to 4.12 per cent.
Besides, the losers are Reliance Energy and Bharti Airtel - both down by 0.43 per cent.
