Sensex down 30 pts in the opening move
Mumbai Sep 22: The Bombay Stock Exchange after opening 30 points in the red at 12,244.41 regained momentum and surged to a new high of 12,303.42 point in past four months.
Currently the sensex is down by 35 points at 12,238.84, on weak global indices and selLing in few select bluechip stocks.
However the Midcap and the smallcap indices are weak by 0.33 and 0.14 per cent, and major sectoral indices except Capital Goods, Metals and Oil&Gas on the BSE are also trading in the red. Bankex is down by 0.87 per cent, Consumer Durables is down by 1.00 per cent and IT is down by 1.13 per cent.
Major gainers on the BSE-30 index are Grasim, Bajaj Auto, Gujarat Ambuja, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Industries all up between 0.78 to 2.10 per cent.
Besides the losers are Satyam Computers, ICICI, Reliance Communications, Dr Reddys Lab, TCS and Infosys all down between 1.00 to 2.29 per cent.
