Mumbai blasts investigation must be made public
New Delhi, Sept 21: Asserting the al-qaeda and Lashkar-e-Toiba were involved in the Mumbai and Malegaon blasts, the BJP today demanded the Government to come out with the facts unearthed by the police investigations linking the blasts to these ''Jihadi'' organisations.
BJP Spokesman Prakash Javadekar said the Mumbai Police had unearthed al-Qaeda links and the hand of an associate of Mohammad Atta, one of the key master minds of the attack on the New York twin towers, in both the Mumbai and Malegaon blasts. The revelation, hitherto kept under the wraps, should be shared with the countrymen who all wanted to know the progress achieved in the blast investigations, he said.
'' The Prime Minister, making a 'U-turn', and conceding that Pakistan itself is a victim of terror when it was known that this country was the 'perpetrator' of terrorist incidents in the country has not gone down well with the people, ''he said, adding that the 'Havana handshake' between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Pakistan President Gen Musharraf will not be acceptable to the people of India because it was an ''attempt to make 'thief' a policeman in the name of joint control''.
