7/11 Mumbai blasts almost solved: Police Commissioner
Mumbai, Sep 21: Mumbai Police Commissioner A N Roy said the jigsaw puzzle surrounding the July 11 serial blasts in suburban trains that killed 187 people has been '' almost solved '' but the official announcement would be made only after a complete assessment of the investigation.
He made the disclosure at a function held here to disburse financial assistance to the victims of the 7/11 blasts.
Earlier, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil, also the Home Minister, said the investigations into the July 11 train blasts are at a '' concrete stage'' and the perpetrators of the crime will be booked soon.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that two accused in the crime have admitted to their links with international terror outfits during scientific tests carried out on them in a Bangalore forensic science laboratory, sources in the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), tasked with the investigation, said.
Muzamil Sheikh and his brother Faisal Sheikh admitted such links as revealed by the ATS in its remand application while seeking extension of their before a local court on Monday.
But the Police Commissioner declined to comment on the ongoing investigations by the ATS sleuths.
