1 arrested in Malegaon blasts; suspects sketch to be released
Malegaon, Sep 10: One person was today arrested in connection with the Malegaon blasts and the police will soon release the sketches of the other suspects.
The police had identified the shop from where the brand new bicycles used in the Friday serial bomb blasts were purchased.
Meanwhile, the situation in the communally sensitive powerloom town has improved remarkably.
Police had earlier detained ten other people for questioning.
At least 38 people were killed and nearly 150 injured in the four blasts that rocked the city on Friday.
Investigation indicate that the bombs were time-bombs and were manufactured indigenously. Apart from the four which exploded, the police also defused two live bombs which were found in Kabrastan.
Malegaon, a city situated on the Mumbai-Agra highway has a population of about seven lakh people out of which nearly 75 per cent are of the minority community.
Five kg RDX was seized from this town in May along with several AK 47 rifles and other ammunition.
