7/11 blast: ATS leaves for B'lore for Narco test

Mumbai, Sept 3: A team of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) sleuths here today left for Bangalore to conduct Narco and Lie Detector tests on two of the nine 7/11 serial train blasts accused.

An ATS official said here today that a team left for Bangalore along with Kamal Ahmed Sheikh and Dr Tanvir Ansari, who were arrested in connection with the July 11 blasts, for conducting Narco Analysis as well as Lie detector tests on them, after getting permission from the court to conduct the tests at the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Bangalore. The tests will be conducted tomorrow.

Kamal was arrested from Bihar on July 20 this year along with Mohammed Khalil Sheikh. The LeT suspect was allegedly having direct or indirect link with Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal. The ATS team had seized 1.5 kg of black powder from their possession.

Dr Ansari (33), who was also a suspected Laskhar-e-Toiba activist, was arrested from south Mumbai. The former RMO (Resident Medical Officer) of Sabusiddique hospital in south central Mumbai, was arrested on July 23 for his alleged role in the bomb blast conspiracy by the ATS team probing the case.

The duo was booked under sections 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons), 147 (rioting), 149 (unlawful assembly) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Indian Explosive Act.
