Prof case: Teacher's body welcomes arrests
New Delhi, Aug 31: The All India Student's Association (AISA) held a demonstration here today in protest against the killing of a college professor in Ujjain for which two ABVP leaders have been arrested.
AISA activists also burnt the Madhya Pradesh government in effigy, alleging that the ruling BJP had been trying to shield the culprits.
Meanwhile, a teachers' body in the capital has welcomed the arrest of the ABVP leaders even while condemning the violence during student union polls.
''This is not an issue concering Ujjain alone. Delhi University and other Universities too witness similar violence,'' Suraj Yadav, President of the Staff Association of Swami Shradhanand College, where a botany professor was shot dead two years ago, said.
The Government should take firm steps to guard against such incidents, he added.
