Restrictions along intl border on I-day eve
Jammu, Aug 11: In view of Independence Day, restrictions have been imposed since today on the movement of people and their vehicles along the International border from Kathua to Jammu.
District Magistrate of Kathua Sarita Chouhan issued the instruction under section 144 of CrPC and imposed restrictions on the movement of people between 2130 hrs to 0500 hrs within two km of the adjoining international border in the district .
Similar order has also been issued in Jammu along the international border of Samba, R S Pura and Akhnoor. This has been necessitated in view of the present security scenario in the state ahead of Independence Day.
Official sources said this order shall remain in force for a period of 10 days starting from August 11-20.
However, under exceptional circumstances, people needing emergency medical attention could contact the nearest security force and police post and give proper identification on demand.
This restriction is not applicable to security personnel, para military forces, police personnel on duty in the two districts.
