B'lore airport comes under extra sercurity cover
Bangalore, Aug 11: Security has been stepped in and around the Bangalore Airport today following the aborted terror plot to blow up US-bound planes from London.
Talking to UNI here, Airports Authority of India (AAI) Deputy General Manager A Kulashreshta said security had been beefed up at the airport eversince the July 11 serial bomb blasts in Mumbai. It had now been further tightened following the United Kingdom yesterday foiling the plot, which might have been carried out in the next few days.
He said additional forces from the BSF had been deployed at the airport. Besides, bomb detection and disposal squads and dog squads were also kept ready.
Air traffic from the city was not affected and all incoming and outgoing flights were flying as per schedule, he added.
