PIL seeks FIR on Vajpayee, Jaswant in mole issue
New Delhi, Aug 7: The Delhi High Court today directed the petitioner to file a proper amended petition justifying direction for an FIR against former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and former External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh for allegedly 'concealing' that a bureaucrat was acting as a mole in the PMO during the Narasimha Rao regime.
A division bench of acting Chief Justice Vijender Jain and Justice Kailash Gambhir asked petitioner Danish A Ghafoor to file the amended petition by August 18, the next date of hearing.
Mr Singh, in page 126 of his book 'A Call to Honour: In search of Emergent India' has revealed that a top bureaucrat working in the PMO during the Rao regime was acting as a CIA agent, said the PIL filed by Counsel Anil Kumar Sharma.
Mr Singh, a Member of Parliament (MP) in 1995, was obliged to disclose the information to the people, said the petition.
Mr Vajpayee knew about the matter and remained silent for reasons best known to him. He should now at least reveal the name to the public, said Mr Ghafoor, a resident of Hyderabad and presently staying here in the Capital.
