Pathak authority declares me innocent: Natwar
New Delhi, Aug 4: Former External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh today said the Justice R S Pathak Inquiry Authority has found him and his son Jagat Singh innocent in the UN's oil-for-food programme in Iraq.
The Justice R S Pathak Inquiry Authority, probing allegations about payment of kickbacks in India in the UN's oil-for-food programme in Iraq, submitted its report to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today.
Commenting on the report, Mr Singh told mediapersons tonight ''the report clearly absolves me and my son of any monetary transaction in this programme and this proves that we are innocent.'' Mr Singh denied any misuse of his power, saying he did not hold any official position at the time when the dealings took place.
