MCD launches drive on property tax assessments
New Delhi, Aug 3: The Municipal corporation of Delhi (MCD) today launched a special drive for rectification of property tax assessments and disposal of pending mutation applications.
According to an official spokesperson of the corporation, the special drive was aimed at enabling taxpayers to clear the upto date dues of their property on decision of the case.
The property owners who have applied for the mutation of their properties due to sale/purchase or any other cause have also been advised to file with their concerned zonal officer requisite documents and deposit upto date taxes and due transfer/composition fees for mutation purposes.
The spokesperson said a general survey had been started in respect of properties against which no tax has been paid and said penal actions as provided in the DMC Act 2003 would be initiated against the defaulting taxpayers.
The property owners have been advised to file their self-assessment property tax returns immediately.
