Prez Kalam suggests 11 missions for MP state

Bhopal, July 17: President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam today suggested 11 missions for the prosperity of Madhya Pradesh to make it a developed state before 2015.

Addressing the inaugural session of the 12-day monsoon session marking the golden jubilee of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Dr Kalam said each of the missions had the potential of making Madhya Pradesh economically prosperous with tremendous effort coming from the political system, the administration and the collective leadership of the state and the Centre.

To the delight of the members, Dr Kalam started his nearly hour-long speech in Hindi and later switched to English along with presentations on giant screens.

The missions suggested for Madhya Pradesh are: Horticulture mission, Agriculture and related mission, Education and entrepreneurship, Global human resource, Healthcare mission, Water management, Infrastructure development, Tourist destination of the world, Exclusive economic zones, e-governance and Tribal development.

After addressing the Assembly, Dr Kalam left for a tribal village in Jhabua district to see Jatropha cultivation and other development works, besides meeting the tribal children. He will return to New Delhi in the evening.
