Muslim organisations condemn Mumbai blasts

Mumbai, Jul 12: Jamait-ul-Uleima Secretary Maulana Mustaqim Azmi, has deplored the serial blasts on suburban trains as an ''unforgiveable tragedy orchestrated by people who hate peace and value of human life.'' Expressing his anguish on the role of the state government and law enforcers, Maulana Azmi told UNI that for a long time the state has been witnessing trouble in some or other form, yet the police chose to remain mute spectators making way for such a grave tragedy.

Taking a similar stand Uleima Council Secretary Mehmood Daryabadi, said, ''The blasts are a result of poor policing and a brutal attempt to create communal tension in the state.'' ''I have appealed to my people not to react to rumours,'' he added.

Raza Academy Chairman Mohammed Saeed Noori in a statement said, ''Islam deplores terrorism in all forms. The Prophet says that one who kills a human being, kills the entire humanity and similary one who saves a life, saves the entire humanity.'' Reacting to the grave situation, Mr Noori has called upon all political parties and social organisations to rise above their differences to help mainatin peace in the state.
