Mumbai serial blasts: Death toll rises to 190

Mumbai, Jul 12: The death toll in the serial bomb blasts on Mumbai's suburban Western railway network has risen to 190.

Police said 464 persons are being treated in different hospitals.

Meanwhile, the list of dead and injured in the worst-ever terrorist attack since the 1993 serial bomb blasts, has been put on www.mumbaipolice.org, the Mumbai police's official website. Besides, the list will also be available on the police helpline 1090.

United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi visited the Bhabha and Sion Hospitals to enquire about the health of the injured. She also visited the Matunga railway station, before leaving for New Delhi.

The scheduled meeting to review the security scenario which was to take place at the Sahaydri Guest House, was cancelled.

Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh has convened an all-party meeting today morning to discuss the security scenario in the state in the wake of the serial bomb blasts.

Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad are likely to address a news conference here today.
