Sensex gains 228 pts, at 10,308 in noon trade

Mumbai, June 22: Taking its cue from the global markets, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensitive Index (Sensex) has gained 228 points to trade at 10,308.26 in the intra-noon trade.

All the global markets, led by Nikkei, are trading in green. Nikkei has grown by four per cent in the intra-day trade today.

Similarly, Nasdaq and Dow Jones, in the overnight trade, closed up in the green, boosted by the stocks of large companies.

All the scrips on the BSE-30 index are trading in the green, led by HDFC, which is up 6.7 per cent, followed by Hindalco, ICICI, TISCO, Tata Motors, L&T and Cipla, all up between 2.5 to 6.0 per cent.

Only one scrip - Dr Reddy's Lab is down by 5.08 per cent.

Experts feel, the strong rally in the midcap sector is likely to stay for some days and will provide stability to the markets.
