Never felt let down by BJP: Rahul Mahajan
New Delhi, Jun 15: Late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan's son Rahul today denied he ever felt let down by the party during the last fortnight when he spent time in hospital and jail in the wake of the drugs abuse scandal.
''I never felt let down by the party. BJP is family to me.
I was born in it, grew up in it and will die in it,'' he said at a press conference here.
While describing former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee as a father figure and thanking him, Rahul offered a ''special thanks'' to party chief Rajnath Singh and senior leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee ''from all of my heart'' for helping the family in its hour of crisis.
''Words can't express our gratitude to Atalji. He is a great man'', he said.
Rahul also denied that the BJP had offered him any post when he attended the party's National Executive meeting here. ''It was only (for) lunch'', he said.
He did not take questions related to the June 2 incident in which he is embroiled in a court case.
