EU's Solana says hopes Iran reply positive
Tehran, Jun 6: European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana said today he hoped for a ''positive response'' from Iran after handing the Islamic Republic proposals that seek to convince it to give up uranium enrichment.
''The proposal is on the table now. We hope to receive a positive response which is beneficial to both sides,'' Solana said in a news conference with Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki.
Solana, who was due to leave Iran later today, said he had a ''very good meeting'' with Mottaki and Ali Larijani, Iran's chief nuclear negotiator.
