BHU medicos place strike in 'suspended animation'
Varanasi, Jun 1 : Hours after the junior doctors in the National Capital called off their indefinite stir over the OBC reservation issue, the medicos at the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) here followed suit today, resuming their duties after putting their strike in ''suspended animation.''
Sir Sunder Lal Hospital, BHU, Resident Doctors Association (RDA) leader, Mahesh Kate told UNI here the medicos, on strike for the last 17 days, late last night decided to resume duties, by putting their stir in ''suspended animation.'' ''We are not calling off strike, but were merly placing it under suspended animation till the Supreme Court decided over the matter of OBC reservation,'' Dr Kate added.
''We do not want to make our movement violative of the Apex court directives and hence were just placing it under suspended animation.'' He claimed the indefinite hunger strike proposed from today has been put off for the time being and symbolic protest in form of medicos wearing black bands at work will follow.
