Advani asks Centre to clarify stand on reservation

Bhopal, Apr 27: Senior BJP leader L K Advani today asked the UPA government to clarify its stand on the issue of reservation for other backward classes in educational institutions, saying two cabinet ministers had given contradictory statements in this regard.

''Let the UPA government make up its mind and come to Parliament, then we will spell out our stand,'' he told reporters here adding ''the BJP's stand on it would be declared later'', Mr Advani, who arrived here as part of his-Bharat Suraksha Yatra-was reacting to the student agitation in Delhi yesterday on the reservation issue.

Science and Technology Minister Kapil Sibal and Union HRD Minister Arjun Singh held divergent views on OBC reservation in educational institutions.
